Mission
To help celebrities use their resources and influence to develop sustainable and impactful solutions to improve the lives of low-income people in America.
Vision
We believe that the influence and power of celebrity, matched with the expertise and resources of institutional philanthropy, can accelerate change and overcome our nation's most pressing social problems.
History
In 2008, David Robinson and his business partner Dan Bassichis met with Ben Hecht, then the newly appointed CEO of Living Cities. David wanted to turn his passion into philanthropy that would create sustainable social change and wanted to help other athletes and celebrities work toward the same end.
With the generous support to the John S. and James L. Knight and JP Morgan Chase Foundations, Living Cities launched the Admiral Center in January of 2009.
Since our founding, the Admiral Center has leveraged the expertise of Living Cities and its members to improve the effectiveness of celebrity and accelerate social change.
